K2 Windward slope, 2016/17

K2 Windward slope

The counterpart to the men's Charger models in the piste-oriented all-mountain segment are the two Luv models "Luv Machine" and "One Luv" in winter 2016/17. As the leading brand when it comes to all-mountain skis and rocker technology, K2 was quick to launch women's skis of equal quality, which are tailored to the female anatomy and are technologically on a par with those of men. Last winter's newly designed women's ski, the Channel Light Core, makes it clear that K2 places a lot of value on the highest technical level in women's skis as well. The Speed Rocker provides the sporty character. The two models are made for the racy female skier who is at home on the slopes. The skis are fast, precise and glide gracefully even on soft snow.

Speed Rocker

K2 has 5 sophisticated rocker types. The Speed Rocker stands for maximum precision and turning ability on hard snow. The slightly raised and slightly longer shovel ensures effortless turn initiation and fast edge changes. The preload along the rest of the running surface guarantees racing precision and 100% edge grip.

Channel Light Core

New at K2 is the Channel Light Core. In this women-specific wood core channels are milled out over the entire length of the ski to save unnecessary material and reduce weight. Easy handling and a harmonious flex are the result. The BioFlex core and the metal laminates specifically reinforce the side areas of the ski.

Bioflex wood core

The BioFlex wood core is a wood core developed for women's skis, in which denser aspen wood is used in the side areas and the lighter Paulownia wood combined with a bamboo stringer is installed in the middle. This reduces the weight of the ski and makes it easier to turn in. In addition, the denser aspen wood on the side provides stability and good edge grip.

Metal laminate

The ski has a lightweight titanium alloy that runs along the entire length of the ski above and below the core. Only the highest quality ski models from K2 are equipped with this most complex structure. Starting from the base, this construction consists of alternating layers of fiberglass and titanium wrapped around the wood core. Metal laminate provides superior damping, stability, torsional stiffness and precise and uncompromising performance for sporty all-mountain skiers.

Hybritech sidewall

Hybritech is the unique combination of a sidewall and a cap construction. It combines the precision, power and performance of a sidewall under the binding with the lightness and smooth turn initiation of a cap construction.
