K2 Backside

K2 is also one of the leaders in the market for touring skis. The range includes two wide models for skiers who are primarily looking for downhill pleasure through untouched deep snow landscapes. The narrower the center width, the more the focus is on classic ski touring and climbing, rather than downhill. With sophisticated technologies K2 also knows how to reduce the weight of the skis, because the lighter the ski the better. A great look, strong performance, low weight and high quality technology make for great ski touring.

All terrain rocker

As the name suggests, this type of rocker from K2 stands for use in all types of terrain. The All-Terrain Rocker™ has a slightly raised shovel for optimum performance in variable and soft snow and enough preload under the binding for plenty of precision and edge grip on icy slopes and hard snow.

Tapered Tip & Tail

Our freeride stability ski is designed not only with a narrower tip, but also with a small amount of narrowing in the ski tip. A narrower ski tip moves the widest part of the contact area to the rear. This reduces the weight of the ski tip and steering in soft and variable snow conditions. The narrower shovel allows more control after the end of the turn to better accelerate out or steer, depending on slope conditions.

Torsion Box

The Torsion Box construction is the basis for a wide range of skis developed by K2. . Due to its extreme versatility, the Torsion Box construction can be used for all models from entry-level to professional skis. All Torsion Box skis share basic characteristics such as easy handling, fault tolerance, turning ability and dynamics.

Cap construction

"Cap" skis are manufactured using a sophisticated compression molding method in which the top layer of the ski envelops the core and internal materials. Cap skis are basically very durable and lightweight, which is why this technology is used in all series. Depending on the composition of the core material layers result in the different riding characteristics of each model.

Powder Tip

The rocker provides lift, so this does not require an enlarged shovel surface in the conventional style. In the K2 PowderTip, the widest part of the shovel has been moved further back. This gives it lift in soft snow, but at the same time keeps the track safely in adverse snow conditions.

Hybritech sidewall

Hybritech is the unique combination of a sidewall and a cap construction. It combines the precision, power and performance of a sidewall under the binding with the lightness and smooth turn initiation of a cap construction.

Z-Clip Skin Attachment

A secure, self-centering and lightweight attachment that allows quick mounting and removal of climbing skins on ski tours.

Carbon web

In models with this technology, the MOD structure is wrapped with a carbon mesh. The precise arrangement of the carbon strands gives the ski extra torsional stiffness where it is needed, while keeping the overall weight low.

Skin Grommets

All Adventure Skis have multifunctional holes in the shovel and ski end. In addition to the possibility of attaching skins, the holes serve as attachment points when building rescue sleds or various snow anchors. This saves material and therefore weight and gives additional safety in the terrain.
