K2 AMP
K2 was the driving force when it came to making rocker technology and all-mountain skis palatable to a broad mass, when no one wanted to know anything about it. It is clear that, in addition to persuasion, this also requires very high-quality technology. Accordingly packed with the latest technologies are the all-mountain models AMP of the 2014/15 season. In addition to Hybridtech sidewalls come MOD technology, metal laminates, carbon web, powder tip, triaxial braid, different wood or composite cores, three different rocker types and different bindings. The result is an extremely versatile range of state-of-the-art all-mountain skis that meet all possible requirements.

Speed Rocker
K2 has 5 sophisticated rocker types. The Speed Rocker stands for maximum precision and turning ability on hard snow. The slightly raised and slightly longer shovel ensures effortless turn initiation and fast edge changes. The preload along the rest of the running surface guarantees racing precision and 100% edge grip.
All terrain rocker
As the name suggests, this type of rocker from K2 stands for use in all types of terrain. The All-Terrain Rocker™ has a slightly raised shovel for optimum performance in variable and soft snow and enough preload under the binding for plenty of precision and edge grip on icy slopes and hard snow.
Catch-Free Rocker
A rocker technology for beginners: The elevation of the shovel and ski tail allows beginners easier turn initiation, stability during the turn and safe, effortless turn control. The ski glides effortlessly around turns, even at low speed, without the shovel or tail getting stuck in the snow and jamming.
Metal laminate
The ski has a lightweight titanium alloy that runs along the entire length of the ski above and below the core. Only the highest quality ski models from K2 are equipped with this most complex structure. Starting from the base, this construction consists of alternating layers of fiberglass and titanium wrapped around the wood core. Metal laminate provides superior damping, stability, torsional stiffness and precise and uncompromising performance for sporty all-mountain skiers.
MOD structure
The technology developed by K2 stands for damping and smoothness. The MOD structure absorbs vibrations and shocks over the entire length of the ski for better edge grip and smoother running. It is a second elastomer core that moves independently of the actual wood core of the ski, so that the bending line or flex of the ski remains unaffected.
Carbon web
In models with this technology, the MOD structure is wrapped with a carbon mesh. The precise arrangement of the carbon strands gives the ski extra torsional stiffness where it is needed, while keeping the overall weight low.
Hybritech sidewall
Hybritech is the unique combination of a sidewall and a cap construction. It combines the precision, power and performance of a sidewall under the binding with the lightness and smooth turn initiation of a cap construction.
Triaxial Braiding
Triaxial Braiding was developed by K2 in 1988 and is still considered the best process for joining fiberglass to a wood core. In this process, a pre-treated wood core is passed through a patented Triaxial Braiding machine, which wraps it with pre-braided fiberglass strands. This unique method produces skis with perfectly tuned torsional stiffness, and a forgiving character, without sacrificing the dynamics and lively flex of the wood core
Cap construction
"Cap" skis are manufactured using a sophisticated compression molding method in which the top layer of the ski envelops the core and internal materials. Cap skis are basically very durable and lightweight, which is why this technology is used in all series. Depending on the composition of the core material layers result in the different riding characteristics of each model.
Powder Tip
The rocker provides lift, so this does not require an enlarged shovel surface in the conventional style. In the K2 PowderTip, the widest part of the shovel has been moved further back. This gives it lift in soft snow, but at the same time keeps the track safely in adverse snow conditions.
K2/Marker MX System
With its integrated rails, the K2/Marker MX binding system offers extremely direct power transmission to the ski and thus maximum precision and control for the Precision Piste AMP models. In addition to the Marker Inter Pivot heel technology, the K2/MX binding uses a lightweight Triple Pivot MX toe.
K2/Marker MXC System
The brand new K2/Marker MXC binding system is the widest ski binding system from K2. It is 54% wider than the previous MX model and features a Triple Pivot toe and an Inter-Pivot heel. Thus, the MXC system offers more precision and improved control on wider all-mountain skis. The MXC and ERC binding systems feature zinc stance feet that build further toward the widest part of the ski for extremely accurate power transfer and optimized edge grip. But the binding is not only wider, but also has a stand height reduced by 12% and 10% less weight.
Skin Grommets
All Adventure Skis have multifunctional holes in the shovel and ski end. In addition to the possibility of attaching skins, the holes serve as attachment points when building rescue sleds or various snow anchors. This saves material and therefore weight and gives additional safety in the terrain.
