Freeride stands for ultimate adventure and boundless fun in deep snow, which the freeride freaks cool call "powder". The demands on the skier for excursions into deep snow are much higher than for the normal piste skier. But also the material is quite different. As a rule, freeride skis are built wide to very wide (average widths between 90 - 120 mm) and have a long and strong rocker, which gives them buoyancy like the surfboard on the water and facilitates surfacing and maneuvering in deep snow.

2013/14 year Rossignol has launched its new freeride skis on the market and immediately took some awards and prizes for its high innovation. In particular, the novel air-filled shovels, whose technology is summarized under the term "Air Tip", have caused a sensation. The success of this technology has even led this year to the fact that it has now found its way into the all-mountain skis. A cool design also provides the necessary pep to please the deep snow cracks. The successful and unique series goes into the next winter with few adjustments.

When it comes to freeriding, the K2 brand is one of the first places to turn to find a hevorragenden ski in this category. This winter K2 introduces the new line Pinnacle with three models that have a flat, elongated rocker on the shovel and tail of the ski. Excitingly, these models also feature the new Konic technology like the all-mountain models. Two models have a super-light composite core - NANOlite technology - from space technology with lower density, which facilitate the swing-in. In the side area, the strong wood core provides edge grip and stability. They look great, are equipped with cutting-edge technology and guarantees surfing through the powder with a high fun factor, what more do freeriders want!

K2 is a brand that puts a lot of emphasis on fun and experience on the mountain, with classic alpine ski racing, the American manufacturer has not much to do. Therefore, K2 is very strong in the areas of all-mountain, freeride and touring. In addition to the Pinnacle model line, K2 holds the Shreditor line for freeriders, which was already in the range last year. The line has been reduced by the model with 136 mm center width, which is still available in the American market. Like TwinTip skis, the skis are relatively rockered (bent up) at the front and back, which facilitates maneuvering in deep snow and is of great benefit during jumps and when skiing backwards. This line is aimed at freeriders who are not afraid of anything and love the thrill.

Those who like it dignified will find Elan freeride skis with a quiet, sophisticated design that stands out. The freeride skis also have a lot to offer in terms of technology. The ALUblade technology has been retained from last year. It can be found in the three models labeled "ALU." The Diamond tips split the snow cleanly and make it easier to dip and position in deep snow. The Spectrum models also feature Elan's signature Amphibio rocker for improved maneuverability in deep snow. New additions this winter are two "Carbon" models with TubeLite technology. The two new models "Spectrum 105 Carbon" and "Spectrum 95 Carbon" replace last year's "Spectrum 105″ and "Spectrum 95″ models.

Fischer Sports has revised its freeride range for this winter and presents in particular with its new flagship model Ranger 108 Ti an ultra-light and agile freeride ski. Lightness and precision the new Ranger owes partly to its "Carbon Nose", i.e. the particularly thin shovel is made of carbon, which makes the ski stand out overall as a lightweight freeride ski. In addition, there are established technologies such as the Air Tec Ti wood core construction or the Aeroshape technology, which provide high-quality driving fun.

With a youthful, fresh, trendy design, the freeride slats from Movement come along. With center widths ranging from around 90 to 120 mm, Movement covers the entire range of freeride skis. The skis are based on a lightweight ski core made of ecological poplar wood, which is covered by a layer of triaxial fiberglass that provides stability. The different CTS constructions provide more or less torsional stiffness and performance depending on the model. The additional carbon inlay used in individual models provides liveliness and precision. K2 Luv Freeride

"Bringing back the luv again" is the motto of K2 this winter. Numerous women's models therefore contain the term "luv" in their name. Luv, of course, stands for love. The current Luv Freeride range includes the two models "Luv Boat" and "FulLUVit". Technologically they correspond to the Allmountain range with Channel Light Core technology, BioFlex core, Triaxial Braid, metal laminate and Hybridtech sidewalls. The difference to the Luv Allmountain line is mainly in the wider dimension and a slightly stronger rocker: With 98 and 108 mm center width, these are already quite decent slats. Thus deep snow lovers are already well equipped.

Last year's Remedy series will also be continued in 2015/16. K2 is the brand among the major ski brands that stands especially for "fun on the mountain" and successfully works the segments all-mountain, freeride and touring. In addition to the Luv models, K2 offers the Remedy models for freeride ladies. Here, the shovel and ski end are relatively strongly bent up, as with a TwinTip ski, which gives them high maneuverability and makes them ideal for jumps. Ladies who want to surf and jump through the powder choose these models.

The name is already known from the men's freeride skis. The same name, the same concept, but smaller, narrower and lighter, so you could characterize the skis compared to the men's models.
