EVZ signs Nick Shore until end of season

After the return of Ryan McLeod to Edmonton and the loss of Calvin Thürkauf, the EVZ signs center Nick Shore until the end of the season.

The 28-year-old American from Denver, Colorado, has already arrived in Zug over the weekend and went into a temporary quarantine. When he will be used for the first time for the EVZ depends on further clarifications.

Nick Shore was drafted 82nd overall in the third round of the 2011 NHL Draft by the Los Angeles Kings, with whom he was under contract from 2014-18. Last season, after a stint in the KHL with Metallurg Magnitogorsk, he played again for the NHL organizations of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Winnipeg Jets. In total, the center appeared in 304 games (18 goals, 41 assists) in the NHL. During the current season, he recorded 10 points (4 goals, 6 assists) in 5 games for the Slovakian club HK Dukla Trenčín.

"With the departure of McLeod and the injury to Calvin Thürkauf, we had to look for a replacement at the center position."

says General Manager Reto Kläy about the new signing. "With Nick Shore, we were able to find a suitable candidate who brings experience and can help the team accordingly." Due to the current absences, Shore will not be an additional burden on the EVZ budget.
