Elan caused a stir last year with its revolutionary Amphibio concept and showed how much finesse the Slovenian ski manufacturer brings to the design and realization of high-quality skis. Anyone studying Elan's range of rockers will be amazed at how numerous and well thought out Elan's different rockers are. Elan has also significantly expanded the existing rocker range after its launch last year, only the race ski series was not provided with them. The following rocker can be found in the various series and models:
Extended: Amphibio for women and men
Conceptually and design-wise, the Amphibio models from Elan were the absolute highlight last winter. And they still are! The success proves Elan right, the ski has sold well, which is why the manufacturer doubles the range this winter. Three models for men and one for women were in 2011, now there are six models for men and two for women. For women, the range has been expanded to include a slightly wider model (78 mm), which is more suitable for off-road use. For men, they have completed the previous range consisting of 74 and 82 mm center widths with two models with 78 mm center width and one model with 88 mm center width. The designs of the new models have been very well adapted to the existing range and the unique look developed in the Porsche Design Studio has been harmoniously continued in the new models. In 2012, customers now clearly have more choice to meet their individual needs for more or less on-piste or off-piste use.
Extended: Early Rise Men
In 2011 there was just one model, the E/Flex 6 Erise, which was equipped with an Early Rise Rocker, now there are six models available for men. With medium widths between 70 and 73 mm, the range is clearly piste-oriented. This means that all men's piste skis are now rocked at Elan with the exception of the racing skis.
New: Freeride skis on the slopes
We did not pay attention to freeride slats or freeskis in 2011, because they have been rocked for years. Following other brands, we just want to point out here that Elan offers three freeride models with a center width under 100 mm, the 999 ALU, the 999 and the 888 ALU. This is, of course, a ski that rather young freeriders claw, but they are quite suitable for the slopes. This year we want to at least mention them.
New: Various women's models with Early Rise Rocker
Last winter, in addition to the one Amphibio model, we had just one rocked piste model called "Zest" for the piste-oriented lady. Now four more models have been added: "Ilumina Fusion", "Mystic QT", "Black Magic QT" and "Snow QT" are the names of the new models. It is not only the successful design that is impressive, but also the slimline models' suitability for the slopes. With center widths between 67 and 75 mm and lengths between 140 and 158 cm, they are very maneuverable from the ground up, and the Early Rise Rocker does its part to make them even more maneuverable.
