Elan Voyager: The first folding ski series

With its latest achievement, the Slovenian manufacturer Elan once again takes the cake. When it comes to innovation, the creative minds at Elan are always outdoing the industry. In 2021/22, they will launch the world's first model series of folding skis. Many will roll their eyes now, but if you're honest, who would have thought there would be folding bikes in the past, and they've also been established for a long time. But we want to be honest, Elan has already presented its first folding ski, the Ibex Tactix, anno 2019. To bring the touring ski Ibex as a foldable variant on the market, of course, makes absolute sense, as long as the story also works technically. Every touring skier saves a lot of space, of course, and saves a bulky obstacle on his back. Now the positive feedback from customers shows that "normal" skiers should also be addressed by it.

Folding ski for the masses
With its 78 mm center width, the new series appeals to carvers and all-mountain enthusiasts, i.e. the broad piste audience. And among them are likely to be some who prefer to transport a ski folded and thus compact and stretched to its full length on the mountain. The ski comes in pink, green and black. Matching poles and suitable travel bags are available, in which the inclined skier stows all the ski equipment. Clean and comfortable, you have to hand it to the guys. But the technological novelty has its price of CHF 1,599.00, which could scare off one or the other interested party. But the prudent thing to do is to try!
