Elan Explore, 2015/16

Elan Explore

Elan carries a second model series for the all-mountain segment in addition to its successful Amphibio line. These are the "Explore" models. Firstly, unlike the Amphibio models, they are equipped with a symmetrical rocker on the shovel - there is therefore no left and right ski -, fall back on Elan's classic WaveFlex concept and are priced significantly lower than the Amphibio models. If you want a cheap all-mountain ski from Elan, it's best to take a look here.

Parabolic Rocker

The parabolic rocker profile with the rocker at the shovel and ski end shortens the effective edge length of the ski. The advantages are easier turn initiation and forgiveness of skiing errors.

Early Rise Rocker

Moderate rocker in the ski tip and tail. This allows skiers a harmonious turn with less effort.

Waveflex

The "Waveflex" concept developed by Elan is a wave-shaped top layer that simultaneously ensures that the flex remains soft on the one hand, but the torsional or rotational stiffness of the ski remains as high as possible, which improves the performance of the ski.

Dual wood core

The Dual Wood Core features two symmetrical wood struts on the outer sides of the ski core. This design improves power transmission and edge grip while keeping the ski easy to control.

Comprex wood core

This core is made of lightweight compressed wood in the midsection for improved edging and effortless carving.

Full Power Cap

A particularly forgiving, lightweight and easy to ride design.

PST

A cap construction for greater lightness, combined with a sidewall, for maximum edge grip. Powerful yet playful when needed.

Mono TI

A titanium insert over the wood core increases torsional stiffness and reaction speed.

Fiberglass

Above or below the wood core, fiberglass optimizes the properties of the ski and provides a harmonious flex and good torsional stiffness.
