Corona Virus: Bike Days 2020 canceled

The Bike Days in Solothurn, which should have taken place from May 8 to 10, 2020, have to be cancelled due to the Corona virus. The "extraordinary" event proclaimed by the Federal Council Situation" and the ban on events with more than 100 people until April 30 prevent the regular preparation work, the timely set-up and thus the realization of the Bike Days. Erwin Flury, OC president, is disappointed: "We are sorry for the numerous bike enthusiasts and the many people involved". The next Bike Days will take place from May 7 to 9, 2021.

The Velofestival Bike Days, which is planned for the weekend of May 8-10, 2020, must be canceled due to the Coronavirus. The general conditions with the event ban from 100 people, valid until at least April 30 and the increasingly strict conditions in the fight against Covid-19 with the proclamation of the "extraordinary situation" until at least April 16, make the regular preparation work, the construction at the end of April and the implementation of the event from May 8 to 10, 2020 impossible. In addition, several international exhibitors are currently prevented from participating in events. In addition, the different requirements in other countries, also makes it impossible for international athletes to participate. Erwin Flury, OC president of the Bike Days says: "We are stunned that this year's staging of the Bike Days falls victim to the Corona virus. We are especially sorry for our numerous visitors and all those involved, who look forward to the official Swiss Bike Spring every year. The damage is considerable, but due to the timing of the cancellation, seven weeks before the event, this can be kept within limits, so that the Bike Days can also be secured in the long term."
