Bike care with Shimano

SHIMANOs "Clean, Lube & Care" series allows easy bike care in three steps: clean, lubricate and maintain.

Bike experts know: A clean bike is always a faster bike. Dirt, mud and dust on the bike increase friction in many areas and thus reduce the propulsion generated by the energy expended by the rider. But what's the best way to keep this two-wheeled gem spick and span? The new "Clean, Lube & Care" series is SHIMANO's answer to this question.

As the name - in German "Clean, Lubricate & Maintain" - expresses, the series is based on SHIMANO's recommendation for bike care in three steps. First, the bike should be cleaned with products such as grease remover or bike cleaner. Then, the application of lubricants should ensure low friction of all moving parts. And finally, the application of care products such as bike polish, grease or assembly paste ensures long-lasting protection and a radiant appearance.

The aerosol-based cleaning, lubricating and care products are applied in an environmentally friendly manner by air pressure. They are thus non-flammable and can also be used indoors without any problems. The product range consists of 125 ml, 200 ml and - brand new - 400 ml containers for grease solvent, bike wash, spray oil and bike polish, which are equipped with clever features such as a 360° nozzle. This allows the spray cans to be used in any position - even downwards in hard-to-reach places. In addition, the design with compressed air cushion as a driver ensures that 100% of the product can actually be applied.

The products in vials include a 100-ml bottle of wax-based PTFE lubricating oil for use on moving parts in dry conditions and a 100-ml bottle of Wet-Lube, i.e. lubricant for wet conditions, which is characterized by higher water resistance, among other things. Other products such as Grease Remover or Bike Wash are also available in 1000 ml canisters for workshop use.

Together with the new, expanded product family, SHIMANO is introducing a revised packaging design that incorporates the underlying three-step concept and makes the application area of the products recognizable at first glance. In addition, specialist dealers can make use of new POS material (e.g. free-standing or counter displays as well as slat-wall displays) to help consumers select the right cleaning, lubrication or care product.
