World record 100 m hurdles women 2022

At the 2022 World Athletics Championships in Eugene, Oregon, USA, Nigerian hurdler Tobi Amusan set a new world record in the 100m hurdles with a time of 12.12 seconds in the first of three semifinal heats on July 24, 2022. You can watch the live recording of this historic race on the video below. In the final race on the same evening, the 25-year-old Nigerian went one better and won the gold medal with a new best time of 12.06 seconds. However, this time does not count as a world record because a tailwind of 2.5 m/second prevailed - but for a world record the mark of 2 m/s tailwind must not be exceeded.
